World Handicap System 2020 - Cornwall Education Workshops

England Golf continues to work closely with the USGA and the R&A to help introduce the new single World Handicap System (WHS)for the sport. Together with golf’s handicapping authorities they are developing a universal system which will apply all over the world.

In autumn 2019 the Cornwall Golf Union in conjunction with the County Ladies Golf Association will be staging at least two WHS education workshops for affiliated clubs. The workshops will last approximately four hours and be split into two sessions, - with a break for lunch/refreshments.

Every club should be represented at one of the workshops, when supporting material for clubs will be provided. At this stage we intend to host the workshops at Tehidy Park and St Mellion International Golf Clubs in early November 2019. If required we would then look to provide a further session in early 2020 for any who were unable to attend previously. There will be a maximum of 3 places available per club, so in due course please consult wisely to ensure the most appropriate people are attending – with preference being given to the relevant handicap secretaries (men and women).

Further information on exact dates and times together with how to book onto the sessions will follow shortly.

In the meantime if you want to learn more about the WHS 2020 there is a wealth of material available to watch and read. Links to these are provided below.
