2019 should start to see a reduction in the time it takes to complete a round of golf. Many of the changes in the new Rules aim to speed up play. A prime example is the introduction of the three minute ball search, before the ball becomes lost.
Two new Rules will actively recommend a prompt pace of play (Rule 5.6) and expressly allow and encourage ready golf in stroke play (Rule 6.4).
