George Selected for England Again

Cornish Junior golfer George Leigh (Trevose) has again been selected to represent England, this time as part of a mixed team of 12 talented young players who will participate in an U16 international against Scotland this weekend. The match will be played at Montrose golf Club, Scotland, on Saturday and Sunday, 30 September and 1 October. 

This year 15 year old Leigh, who currently plays off a -1.5 Handicap, reached the last 16 in the Boys’ Amateur Championship and tied 11th in the English U16 boys’ open stroke play.In April this year Leigh made his national debut in the England team which played a quadrangular match with Wales, Ireland and the Netherlands at Prestatyn GC

The full England team for this weekend's fixture is: Leigh, Dominic Clemons (Hertfordshire), Charlotte Heath & Callum Macfie (Yorkshire), Charlie Hilton (Sussex), Daisy Kennedy & Thalia Kirby (Buckinghamshire), Harriet Lynch (Essex), Remy Miller (Cheshire), Mimi Rhodes (Somerset), Seb Tannum Donaldson (BB&O) and Caitlin Whitehead (Cumbria).
