Max Stockwell (Bowood Park), County Senior Andrew Clotworthy (Tehidy Park), Connor Jenkins (Bude) and Louis Gough (Carlyon Bay) all finished on a 158 16 over par total after the two round strokeplay and this four went down the first hole in front of an interested crowd.

When Gough pitched his second shot to a few feet and holed the putt for birdie his spot was secured but with the other three all making the par 4, they moved to the second hole. Clotworthy missed the fairway left off the tee, Jenkins missed right but Stockwell  with an excellent drive found the front edge of the green on the 316 yard hole. Clotworthy came up short with his second and although Jenkins found the back left of the green he was some distance away. Clotworthy's third ran on past the pin and when he failed to make the putt his race was run. Jenkins putted up close to the hole but despite leaving himself a knee knocking short putt Stockwell secured the birdie and joined the 32 man throng in the knockout stages.
