Simon Wood Starts With CGU
Simon Wood is now employed by the Cornwall Golf Union and since 1st October 2025 has been working alongside current County Secretary Chris Pountney. The pair are working a handover period through to the end of November 2025 when Chris will retire.
The formation of the new unified body - Cornwall Golf Ltd - is subject to yet to be held voting on the dissolution of both the Cornwall Ladies Golf Association and the Cornwall Golf Union. Nevertheless, over the past months the Unification Working Group has been undertaking preparatory work in the event such approval is gained. Should the dissolution be approved Simon will become the County Golf Operations Manager.

Winter knockout results (Cornish Bowl 12th October) can be forwarded to Chris as normal and will be updated on his return.
