Sam Crocker and Peter Mehigan are the Depot & Petherick Cups Winners 2025
In the Depot Cup competition, for club scratch champions, Cornwall Men's team member Sam Crocker (Carlyon Bay) came out top of the pile with an excellent one under par round 66 to win by 5 shots from host club member James Bassett (71).
Crocker's round was made up of 13 pars, three birdies and just two bogies, Having gone out in a 2 under par 31 his two dropped shots both came on his back nine.
Bassett was left ruing two bad holes - a quad on the 6th and a double at 16 which he countered with 4 birdies, those coming at his first two and last two holes..
Third place went to first time visitor to Truro, China Fleet's Jason Friend on 72.
The Petherick Cup competition is for club handicap champions and this year the winner on countback was St Mellion's Peter Mehigan who played to his handicap returning a gross 78 for a nett 67. A birdie and 6 pars were fundamental to his overall total. Truro's Craig Taylor was second with the same score whilst Archie Fox (Falmouth) was third a shot further back on nett 68.
CGU President Martin Edwards presented the prizes and thanked Truro GC, its staff and members for their hospitality.
