Following Erin and Eliza's win at Falmouth for Penrice Academy in the Cornwall Schools Team Championships back in May, the duo along with Edwyn made the long journey to the Home of England Golf, the prestigious and demanding Woodhall Spa Golf Club to play the 2025 England Schools Team Championships.
Playing with Juniors from schools in Newcastle and West Sussex, they were introduced by the England Golf Starter as representing Penrice before teeing off in the first groups of the day.
Well very well done to Penrice for coming second (out of 36) making them the 2025 2nd Best Nett School Team in England, leading all day until the last school from Norfolk came in and beat them by two points.
Being a two scores to count competition, Erin (Carlyon Bay) and Edwyn (St Austell) both scored 41 points each, meaning a team score of 82 points, both also coming joint 4th (out of 110) in the individual event. Eliza (St Austell) also played well coming in the top half of the field.
There was a lot of praise for the Penrice team being the only one with more girls, than boys (8 girls played in total), from the President of English Schools Golf Association, June Morgan, pictured at the prize giving. (below)
Now to try and win it next year!
