If you are passionate about sport then tapping into SWSN reveals a team equally passionate.

A number of pro-active South West Golf Clubs already engage using social media. Those clubs will be familiar with the way SWSN engages with thousands of sports fans every day.

SWSN was set up in 2008 by its Cornish owner and experienced freelance sports journalist Ross Reid.

He says: “South West Sports News started as my 17 year spell as regional Teletext sports editor ended and the seamless transition from ‘on your television to on-line’ made sense in so many ways. We were the first dedicated regional sports website in the country and remain committed to staying ahead of the game to this day, placing our beautiful region and it’s equally outstanding golf courses to the fore...” 

To date some 16 go-ahead golf clubs across Cornwall, Devon and Somerset are committed to using the SWSN service to help promote their courses.

The SWSN hub provides website club listings and daily course status updates to an ever-increasing 13k Twitter following - which includes hundreds of community sports clubs.

Ross leads a pro-active team with one goal: winning promotion for regional sport, something which most local and regional newspapers have found impossible to maintain at former levels. Supporting and promoting county and club golf in the South West has always featured highly on Reid's radar.
