CGU Annual Dinner Friday 15th November 2019
The Cornwall Golf Union Annual Dinner takes place at The Hotel Bristol, Newquay in just over 5 weeks time, on Friday 15th November 2019 (6.00pm for 7.00pm).
CGU President Mike Ellis hosts the dinner at which England Golf President Jenny Clink will be the Guest of Honour along with the SW Region County Presidents. This year there will be no post dinner entertainment.
The dinner offers the opportunity to celebrate another year of golf in the Duchy with awards for both the Golfer of the Year and Junior Golfer of the Year. County Captain Ian Veale and Seniors Captain Andy Rowe are both approaching the end of their tenures in post , the latter having led the County Seniors team to the Seniors Channel League title for the first time since the Duchy joined the league in 2011.
The cost to attend the dinner remains at £30 and you can advise attendance either through your home club or by contacting CGU Secretary Chris Pountney. The dress code for the dinner is formal (Black Tie/Lounge Suits). Wives and partners will all be very welcome!
Accommodation is available at The Hotel Bristol at preferential rates and you should contact the hotel direct in order to book this. We are very grateful, once again to Newquay GC, as with their permission anyone wishing to play golf on the day can do so! Simply roll up at Newquay GC, pay £5 in the Pro Shop and set foot on the links in a stableford competition off full handicap with prizes to be awarded to the top 3 places. Cards should be returned to the bar after play.
