Five Counties U12 Championship 2025 Rules

To be played for by the Counties of Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire in September each year.

The event will be hosted by Counties in order. This will be Somerset (2024), Cornwall (2025), Dorset (2026) Wiltshire (2027) & Devon (2028), etc.

All players must be under the age of 12 years old before the 1st January of the year of competition.

The competition will be over 18 holes of Strokeplay with each County fielding a team of 6 boys.

The winner of the Five Counties Trophy will be the County with the lowest nett aggregate score from their 5 best scores.

There will be an individual prize for the player returning the best gross score of the day, plus runner up and 3rd place prizes.

Should there be a tie the winner will be established on countback from the 6th card – 18 holes, back 9, back 6, back 3 then back 1.

Should the scores still be tied countback will continue, the front 9 in the same manner. Should this be identical the event will be declared a tie and the trophy shared.

Players must be the holders of a WHS Handicap Index.

Whilst there is no upper Handicap Index limit Team Managers should endeavour to select the best team (Lowest handicap) available to them on the day. However, it is up to each County to select what they consider to be the most appropriate team for the event.

Players will compete in 3 balls, and as far as is possible will not be in a group with another member of the same County team.

All catering, refreshments, and accommodation costs will be borne individually by each County.
