Guy is the Man Again!

Guy Norris (Trevose) performed excellently for the second time in a week to claim the West of England Seniors title at Burnham & Berrow GC yesterday. 

Having won the Jock Lawrence competition at Kingsdown last week this time he triumphed in the prestigious West of England Seniors Championship over the links at Burnham & Berrow, Somerset.

With a first round of 74 after day 1 Norris found himself in a tied 10th place but a superb level par 71 saw him finish on top of a field of 66 players from across the country. Well done yet again Guy!

And another Cornish entrant Ian Veale also finished in a top 10 spot in a tie for 4th place. Joint leader after Day 1 with a level par round Veale was unfortunate to suffer a persistent nose bleed over the last two holes. Two over through 16 holes and very much in the frame Veale was hampered over 17 & 18 finishing with double bogeys on both.

There were three other Cornish participants - Mark Blaber finished 24th, Simon Knowles 28th and Richard Jones 54th.
