A & B Team Club Championship 2024
16 clubs have entered the A Team Club Championship and 22 the B Team Club Championship.
Whereas in the recent past all the matches in this competition have been played at the County Week venue on preceding Sundays, this will not be the case in 2024.
With the respective draws completed matches will be played at neutral venues with the hope being participating clubs make their venues available to others in the competitions. Match winners will have to play on two different dates in the A Team Competition and 3 dates in the B Team equivalent, in order to reach the semi finals which will take place at Mullion GC on Saturday 18th May, followed by the Finals of both.
With most clubs staging Saturday competitions we have to look at using Sundays to complete the necessary matches. The diaries for many will be congested already but nevertheless these matches have to be played and the CGU will arrange both venues and dates on which the matches MUST be played.
As a reminder the A Team Club Championship is scratch foursomes matchplay whilst the B Team Club Championship is foursomes matchplay off handicap (with a max limit of 12.0). All matches should be played to a finish unless the overall result is already determined.. You cannot mix A and B Teams. The CGU season runs from 1st April in one year to the 31st March the following year and players cannot represent more than one club in that time.
Results must be returned promptly to the CGU Secretary using the forms available below.
Team names MUST be provided to the CGU Secretary prior to the commencement of all the matches. On the day is sufficient.
Please make any catering arrangements with host clubs in good time.

Matches took place by kind permission at Tehidy Park Golf Club on Sunday 3rd and Sunday 10th April 2022 along with the final on Saturday 21st May 2022.
In the A Team Final Tehidy Park beat St Enodoc and in the B Team Final Falmouth were victorious over Tehidy Park
A and B Team Club Championship 2021 - Cancelled
Due to the impact of the pandemic the A and B Team Club Championships will not take place. It is hoped to renew this competition in 2022.
A & B Team Club Championship 2020 - Cancelled
All matches will take place by kind permission at Newquay Golf Club.
For 2020 the CGU Championship Committee has approved that the only team matches taking place during County Week itself will be the finals of the A & B Teams. The two finals will take place on the morning of Saturday 23rd May 2020.
Therefore all other matches, up to and including semi final stage, are scheduled to take place on two Sundays in April 2020, Sunday 19th and Sunday 26th. Teams should be aware they may be required to play twice on those days.
