CornwallGolf Union
Under the banner of the Cornwall Golf Union a special event is to be staged on 21st September 2019 at Tehidy Park Golf Club and we would love you to be part of it. The day will be special and there are a number of key elements which it is hoped will make the day attractive to you!
The format will be an 18 hole stableford in teams of 4 with the best two nett scores counting off ¾ handicap. The event is open to both ladies and men with handicap limits of 36 and 24 applied. The team entry fee is £135 (£45 per person).
So what is different about this day? Well first of all you should enter in three’s as your 4th team member will be established by way of an auction. Teams will bid for their lead amateur (who will be a member of the Men's County squad) or Professional, all of whom will have a reserve price.
The following is what you will get from this unique event:
Why are we doing this? County Captain Ian Veale is coming towards the end of his two year tenure and as many will know Ian is the Secretary at Tehidy Park Golf Club. He says “Bringing this event to Tehidy Park is a way for me to thank the Club for their unwavering support during my Captaincy. With less than 4 months to go in the role, I see this as a great opportunity for my County squad to give something back to the overall membership that makes up the Cornwall Golf Union".
Ian continued “I already have commitment from 18 of my County squad in addition to some of the local Professionals who have given freely of their time in helping the squad during my time as County Captain.
“I think the player auction will be great fun for all concerned and I am optimistic some box office names may yet be included”.
If this has grabbed your fancy and several have already booked then please contact Ian via secretary-manager@tehidyparkgolfclub.co.uk or on 01209 842208 (option 6). There is a limit of 25 teams so don’t delay!
We look forward to welcoming you ‘One and All’ to Tehidy Park in September for this unique event and to bringing the golfing collective in Cornwall together.
