Gammon and Ellis Surge to President's Win

CGU President Mike Ellis staged his invitation day at Trevose G&CC yesterday and had a day to remember as he and partner Nick Gammon surged to victory in the pairs betterball event. In all 52 representatives from clubs across the county participated.

Ellis was delighted that two of the field had travelled from the Isles of Scilly to compete. Gammon made seven birdies and one eagle as he and Ellis combined for a 48 stableford points total to claim top prize.

Second spot went to Martin Nicholas and Brian Liggat (Lanhydrock) with an excellent 46 points - a winning score on another day - and third were Rob Pople and Tony Zee (Killiow) on 45.
