Veale Names Team for Match v Cornish Professionals

CGU County Captain Ian Veale has named the team which will take on the Cornish PGA Professionals in a season curtain raiser at Trevose G&CC on Sunday 24th March 2019 commencing at 1.00pm. There are recalls to the county side for Jon Hancock (Newquay), Ryan Curtis (Bude & N Cornwall) and Jack Mewton (Perranporth) all of whom have impressed off season.

Cornwall Team:  Matt Richards (West Cornwall), Sandy Kirton, Jack Mewton, Conor Wilson (Perranporth), George Leigh, Joe Reynard (Trevose), Rob MacGregor (Tehidy Park), Aaron Stephens (Newquay), Jon Hancock and Ryan Curtis. 

Veale said “I am encouraged by the level of availability early season and hope this continues. It really is a privilege to be involved with Team Cornwall, and we have great opportunities ahead of us this season. For starters the opportunity to play at Trevose in this fixture, in addition to our get together there two weeks ago.

"Then we have matches around the South West and Wales in the Channel League at some top venues, with the 'cherry on top' being South West Week in June at Parkstone, a truly phenomenal venue.  I have a strong team but am aware there are a number of others on the fringe. All are great golfers and so there will be competition for places throughout and that can only be a good thing"
