Covid-19 Updates, Advice and Guidance (England Golf 26th March)

COVID-19 response: Golf course closures - It remains England Golf’s position that this deeply regrettable, but highly necessary and responsible course of action had to be taken on 23 March following the Prime Minister’s statement to the nation.

Golf courses and facilities must remain closed until further notice.

This decision was not taken lightly. It was made to limit the spread of the coronavirus and relieve the growing pressure on our National Health Service and save lives.

The playing of golf does not constitute one of the government’s permissible forms of daily exercise.

There should be no exceptions, no special cases as golf takes its share of the responsibility in looking out for the health and wellbeing of all citizens.

*** All golf clubs should be aware that insurance provided free to members via the England Golf affiliation fee is not valid during this period of course closure ***

A number of avenues can continue to be accessed for assistance in the current crisis:

Golf Industry Support – Extended Financial Package

COVID-19: guidance for employees, employers and businesses

Coronavirus Government Business Support Measures

HR and Health & Safety advice - All affiliated clubs have access to the business assist service provided by England Golf's partners Xact. Business Assist gives access to online Health & Safety and HR support. In this dynamic and challenging time for clubs, it is important that you are aware you have access to the best practice, guidance and templates to ensure that your club is well taken care of.

England Golf - Cancelled events

All workshops, including but not limited to, World Handicap System, Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Time To Listen and our AGM have been postponed until further notice.
