Eng Golf - Senior Mens Open Amateur Championship

Four Cornish based Seniors are this week heading to the English Senior Men's Open Amateur Championship.

CGU Seniors Captain Andy Rowe (Looe), past Captain Simon Harper (St Austell) together with West Cornwall's Malcolm Edmunds and Warwick Holland travel to Sherwood Forest and Coxmoor Golf Clubs where over 300 seniors will do battle from Wednesday.

This 54-hole championship is open to men aged 55 or over on the first day of the event and is played on two courses. The full field plays 18 holes on both of the courses over the first two days and thereafter the leading 80 will play a further round on the third day, with the winner being the player returning the lowest gross score over the 54 holes. There are also prizes in a number of different age categories.

Good luck to them all!

Scoring will be available on the England Golf website here
