GDPR REMINDER
With less than 100 days to go until new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) regulations come into force there is lots of help and advice to guide you through this process.
All clubs need to be aware of these changes as it affects all organisations that hold personal data which could identify a living individual. This will include, for example, contact details sent in with a membership application form; booking enquiries sent via a website; or transaction details recorded in the club shop.

HOW ABOUT THE LONGEST DAY CHALLENGE?
England Golf have formed an exciting partnership with Macmillan to make the Longest Day Golf Challenge an even bigger success - and hope your club will join them.
They are inviting clubs to become Longest Day Golf Challenge friendly by nominating a day when players can take on 72 holes – and raise as much sponsorship as possible. The money will help Macmillan support people with cancer.
Want to get involved? This is how it works:
- Simply reserve a day on or close to the longest day of the year, 21 June 2018.
- Tell Macmillan your club is Longest Day Golf Challenge friendly and you’ll be promoted on their website. You can register your club at longestdaygolf.macmillan.org.uk or by emailing Macmillan at golf@macmillan.org.uk
There will be a big build up to the event and it’s a great way of attracting more people to the club. Let your members and other golfers know they’re welcome to take the challenge on your course. Plan to open early, you might even consider waiving green fees – and making refreshments available!
