Cornwall Lose to Gloucestershire

Cornwall were today beaten 10 - 4 by Gloucestershire in the ongoing battle for the Matchplay Shield.
Trailing 5.5 - 2.5 at lunch the afternoon foursomes only produced a further 1.5 points to see the Duchy soundly beaten by a team who played better golf throughout the day, although a number of the matches were closer than the resultant score suggests.
Morning singles points came from Joe Cruse and Ryan Curtis whilst Aaron Stephens gained an excellent half against the experienced Nick Day. Rob MacGregor was unlucky to lose at the last to his opponent Andy Hale.
Two of the foursomes were halved though good comebacks involving Jared Mortimore with Aaron Stephens and from Rob MacGregor with Conor Wilson. Joe Cruse and Ryan Curtis lost at the last hole whilst Richard Jasper and Josh Greenaway were beaten 3&1.
