Men's First Team Training Sunday 13th March 2022 Newquay GC
County Men's Team stalwart Rob MacGregor (Tehidy Park) claimed the honours in a training session which took place at Newquay on Sunday.
Despite tough windy conditions gusting to 35mph the ever impressive MacGregor carded a 4 under par score of 65 to earn plaudits from County Captain Charlie Phillips and the rest of those present.
Phillips said "The course was very well prepared by Dan Kendle and his team and thanks to Newquay GC for allowing us to use the course and for looking after us so well off it. Rob's 65 was superb in the conditions and in fact overall the scoring from the others was good. Players have used their own coaches indoors throughout the winter period and as a Captain I was impressed by the standard of golf."
Others present were: Adam Bridgewater (Tavistock), Kieran Faulkner (Looe), Mark Grootz, Tom Stephens, Joe Reynard (all Trevose), Josh Greenaway (St Enodoc), Conor Wilson (Perranporth), Zach Burrough (Merlin), Alec Nile (Carlyon Bay), Ethan Tempest, Jack Kevern (both West Cornwall), Aaron Stephens (Newquay) and reigning County Champion Jamie Greet (Mullion).
The Cornwall County Men's Team face a tough opener away to Gloucestershire in their first Channel League match of the season. This takes place at Forest Hills GC on Sunday 3rd April.
