Cornwall County Captain Charlie Phillips has named his team for the upcoming home Channel League match against Somerset on Sunday 5th September at Bude & N Cornwall GC.

Without a win in the league this year Phillips continues to ring the changes. There is a recall to the side for Adam Bridgewater and a Men’s county debut for Mullion’s Alex McHugh. With the side looking to display a real showing and restore some pride in a difficult season, the home match is important as it will be followed the weekend after with an away trip to face Devon at Yelverton.

There are four changes to the team which lost to Somerset earlier this month. Back come stalwarts Rob MacGregor and Aaron Stephens whilst Kieran Faulkner, Jon Hancock and Justin Barnard retain their spots, the latter having made his own debut in that match.

The full men’s team for the match at Bude is: MacGregor, Barnard, Tom Fox (all Tehidy Park), Hancock, Stephens (both Newquay), Faulkner (Looe), McHugh (Mullion), Bridgewater (Tavistock), Thomas Stephens (Trevose) and George Champion (Truro).

The match at Bude gets underway at 9.30am on Sunday 5th September with 5 morning foursomes and 10 afternoon singles. Any support would be most welcome.
