CGU Presidents Message 2021

Monday 4th January 2021

Best wishes for the New Year to you all! At least we have seen the back of 2020!

2021 brings with it optimism we will get back to some sort of normal, albeit not for some time yet. For it’s part, the CGU will be seeking to ensure we can play as much golf as possible and run as full and normal schedule of competitions as any restrictions will allow.

I would urge you all to understand, not least the financial pressures, that clubs are suffering in these difficult times and support them as much as possible. It is significant many clubs are not allowing visitors currently, recognising the value of their members and ensuring, weather permitting, they can play.

The CGU County Championship Week this year is at St Enodoc Golf Course, a huge thank you to their Board and members. It starts on Sunday 16th May – so look out for more details on this site. I would encourage you all to get your names down early for the various events.

In the meantime, please stay safe and well, remain within the current restrictions and let’s look forward to meeting up on the fairways soon.

All the best

Andrew
