Wednesday 8th April 2020
In it's latest announcement made today England Golf state they remain dedicated to working with golfers, golf clubs and counties throughout the coronavirus pandemic, but will now do so with a reduced level of staffing.
In line with many golf industry workplaces hit hardest by the COVID-19 outbreak, a majority of England Golf staff will from Thursday 9 April be placed on furlough through the government’s job retention scheme.
England Golf Chief Executive Jeremy Tomlinson says, "While temporarily operating with a skeleton staff, we will continue to serve the best interests of our stakeholders. When the time is right, we will restore our team to full strength in order to champion the game of golf and ensure it plays a prominent role in our nation’s sporting recovery."
