SafeGolf accreditation for affiliated clubs will become a mandatory element of affiliation to England Golf as of January 2021. The SafeGolf accreditation process is designed to enable clubs, through easily accessible documents and templates, to ensure they are delivering a safe environment for the sport and all of its participants. In order to assist Clubs to achieve accreditation regional workshops are in place as follows:

Time to Listen Workshops

Time to Listen, is an interactive workshop which has been developed by the NSPCC’s Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) and looks in detail at the role of the club welfare officer.
In order to achieve SafeGolf accreditation clubs must appoint a club welfare officer who has completed a Time to Listen workshop.

The next Time to Listen Workshops are scheduled to take place at St Mellion International Resort on Tuesday 21st April 2020 from 6.00pm and then on 10th June 2020 also from 6.00pm The course costs £30 pp.

Safeguarding & Protecting Children Workshops

The Safeguarding & Protecting Children workshop will raise your awareness of the tell-tale signs of abuse, and give you the tools and confidence you need to deal with any issues sensitively, appropriately and effectively should the need ever arise.

In order to achieve SafeGolf accreditation professionals, volunteers and other staff working regularly with juniors need to have completed a face to face Safeguarding & Protecting Children workshop within the last 3 years or completed the online refresher course within the last 3 years having previously attended at least one face to face workshop.

Thursday 30th April 2020 - Bassett Centre, Camborne

Tuesday 26th May 2020 - County Hall, Truro

Wednesday 24th June - Chy Trevail, Bodmin

Tuesday 28th July 2020 - County Hall, Truro

All run from 6.30 - 9.30pm and are £35 per person
