Additional GolfSixes Opportunity in Cornwall

GolfSixes Cornwall

The CGU is delighted to announce that in conjunction with the Golf Foundation, we are investing in a second league of Golf Sixes in 2020 - so we will have one in the East and one in the West of the County.

Golf Sixes is fun shortened version of the game played over 6 holes. Each team fields 3 pairs who compete in basically a pairs scramble, in a shotgun start with all scores collated for the aggregate score. It is quick, and we ask clubs to provide a drink and basic fodder after the match.

With Killiow, Newquay, St Austell and Carlyon Bay already committed, we are looking for an additional 4 clubs! So, if you can:

  • Field a team of 9-12 players of high handicap (40+) and non-handicap/ golf access players
  • Have a short course GolfSafe accredited or working towards it and
  • Can commit to 8 matches plus a finals day then your juniors would love it!

More detail can be provided by Dave Watson (trewendu@gmail.com) or Matt Tucknott (CornwallGolfLessons@gmail.com)

We hope to start soon so please get in touch with them if you are interested. West Cornwall and St Enodoc have already expressed a wish to participate!
