  CORNWALL GOLF DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

The new Cornwall Golf Development Officer is Simon Wood. Simon is a PGA qualified Golf Professional who started playing golf in Cornwall and was a member of St. Mellion golf club for ten years before turning Professional in 2001. Simon started his Professional career at Selsdon Park Golf Club in Surrey before returning to the Westcountry in 2003 where he became Assistant Professional at Yelverton Golf Club. He spent five years at Yelverton before moving to Elfordleigh Golf Club at the beginning of 2009.

Simon is looking forward to working closely with Cornwall's governing bodies, golf clubs and sports partnerships in developing and promoting the game of golf in Cornwall. Two of his main roles will be to increase participation of golf in Cornwall and to assist in golf clubs becoming Golf Mark accredited.
