Cornwall Golf Union County Captain Richard Simmons has named his team for the opening match of the 2015 Channel League when the Duchy are away to Gwent at Llanwern GC this coming Sunday 19th April 2015.

With Tom Fox having turned to the professional ranks and Harry Hall unavailable the team has a changed look from the 2014 season although Simmons says " We remain a strong and close unit and I have no doubt the players brought in for this match will step up to the plate and do their bit for the team. Our squad has strength in depth – the key factor in our success over the last two years. We were able to field a very strong side throughout last year and this is a trend that I'm sure will continue through this season and beyond."

Fox and Hall are the absentees from last Septembers English County Championship winning team but the other 5 are included together with the Perranporth duo of Sandy Kirton and Adam Taylor and Bude & North Cornwall's Ryan Curtis making his full county debut in a side which includes his younger brother Adam.

The full team is: Robert MacGregor (Tehidy Park), Conor Wilson, Adam Taylor, Sandy Kirton (all Perranporth), Matt Richards (West Cornwall), Josh Greenaway (Bowood Park),  Richard Jasper(Launceston), Joe Cruse (St Enodoc), Adam and Ryan Curtis (Bude & N Cornwall).

The action gets underway in Wales early on Sunday morning with 5 foursomes followed by 10 singles.
