Cornwall v Royal Navy Saturday 21st March 2015 West Cornwall GC

Cornwall Golf Union Captain Richard Simmons has named his team for the traditional season opener as the county take on the Royal Navy at West Cornwall GC on Saturday 21st March 2015.

After the success of 2014 Cornwall, as English County Finals winners, are looking to build further.

Talisman Tom Fox (China Fleet), who is about to take to the professional ranks, is the only absentee from the 2014 English County Championship winning team. Simmons gives a county debut to Bude & N Cornwall's Ryan Curtis (pictured below right with brother Adam). Ryan, whose brother Adam is a county regular, has impressed over the winter and is given his opportunity to further the feeling he could yet become a fixture in the side.

The fixture against the Navy will see five morning foursomes followed by ten afternoon singles matches.

Simmons says "After all the fireworks last year it's going to be very special representing Cornwall as the reigning English County Champions - and I'm delighted to say we have a strong line-up for the fixture with the Royal Navy."

Cornwall Team to face the Royal Navy: Harry Hall, Matt Richards (West Cornwall), Rob MacGregor (Tehidy Park), Joe Cruse (St Enodoc), Richard Jasper (Launceston), Conor Wilson, Adam Taylor, Chris Johnston (Perranporth), Josh Greenaway (Bowood Park) and Ryan Curtis (Bude & N Cornwall).
