MacGregor Wins Order of Merit

The fifth event of the 2014/15 Winter Golf Series was held at St Enodoc Golf Club today (Sunday 1st March 2015) on a sunny but extremely windy day.
Tehidy Park GC's Cornwall County player Rob MacGregor (pictured above left) produced a fine round of 33 points to win the scratch event by 2 shots from home member Joe Cruse on 31 points. Perranporth’s Adam Taylor came third on 29 points.
In the handicap event, West Cornwall’s Matthew Walker (pictured above right) won with 32 stableford points, helped by a hole in one on the 8th hole. Trevose’s George Leigh also shot 32 points to claim second place on count back, with MacGregor in third place, also on 32 points.
MacGregor’s victory ensures he wins the WGS Order of Merit for 2014/15. MacGregor progressed onto 70 points in the Order of Merit, with Perranporth’s Connor Wilson in second place on 58.5 points. Trevose’s Chris Brown is in third place on 50 points.

The top 4 scores out of the 6 events count towards the final Winter Golf Series Order of Merit.
The Winter Golf Series would like to thank St Enodoc Golf Club for hosting the event, especially General Manager Tuck Claggett, Head Professional Nick Williams and to all the Green staff on producing a golf course in excellent condition.
The sixth and final Winter Golf Series event of the 2014/15 season is scheduled for Sunday 15th March 2015 at Trevose Golf Club.
