Rules - Cornwall Team Championship - CTC

The Cornwall Team Championship 2009.

1. The competition shall be known as the Cornwall Team Championship.
2. The competition shall be held annually, with the winners holding the trophy for one year.
3. Matches shall be played in teams of 9 – four foursomes and nine singles, matchplay, off scratch. All matches except the ninth singles match may be halved. The ninth singles match must be played to a finish.
4. Points per game to be allocated as follows:
Foursomes - 1 point
Eight Singles - 1 point
Ninth Single - ¾ point
5. Only two replacements can be made in any match and no two players who have played together in foursomes can be replaced. The ninth single match players cannot be used as replacements.
6. Foursomes plus the ninth single match shall be played in the morning, followed by the remaining singles matches. The playing order for both foursomes and singles shall be at the discretion of the Captain.
7. A player, who has represented his Club in the Cornwall Team Championship, may not also represent his Club in either the Frank Wills Salver or the Cornish Bowl in the same season
8 4 Teams will be seeded and placed in the 1st round draw. The previous year’s winners seeded 1, the runners up seeded 2 and the losing semi-finalists seeded 3 and 4.
9 Each match will be played on a neutral course on a date arranged by the Cornwall Golf Union Executive Committee.
10 Not more than 4 temporary greens may be in use for this competition.
11 Abandoned matches. If, due to the closure of the course, a match is abandoned, the following procedure will be used.
a. If the foursomes and ninth man game have been completed, but the singles have not been completed, the result of the foursomes and ninth man will count and the singles will be replayed, even though the original team members may not be available.
b. If the foursomes and ninth man are not completed, the match will be abandoned and started afresh at a revised date.
12 A Plate competition w1ll be played for the teams losing in the first round. The format would be 9 singles over 18 holes on a neutral venue. Players will be allowed to play in any order, the same as the CTC. Captains will nominate one player prior to the game commencing, who in the event of a tied game, will take part in a sudden death playoff to resolve the match.
