Rules - Cornwall Closed Chapionship

THE CORNISH CLOSED CHAMPIONSHIP
incorporating
THE UNDER 21 CHAMPIONSHIP


Qualification.
The Competitions are open to any male professional attached to, or amateur male member of, a Club affiliated to the Cornwall Golf Union. Amateurs must hold a handicap which is valid at the date of the competition under the rules of the CONGU Unified Handicapping System 2008-2011, to be eligible for handicap prizes.

Conditions of the Competitions.

1. Cornish Closed Championship.
a) The Competition is a 36 hole individual stroke play event played off scratch.
b) The Competition is open to all male amateur members and professionals of Golf Clubs affiliated to the Cornwall Golf Union.
c) 72 competitors will be eligible to compete. The winner will be the Competitor who returns the lowest GROSS SCORE over 36 holes. Entries will be accepted in handicap order.
d) Ties will be decided by a sudden-death playoff if conditions permit, otherwise on the scores for the last 18,9,6,3 holes etc. Should a tie still exist, the prize will be shared.
e) Starting times will be decided by the Cornwall Golf Union. Any competitor who is not present on the tee at his appointed starting time will be disqualified.


2. The Under 21 Championship.
a) The Competition will be held concurrently with the Cornish Closed Championship.
b) The Competition is open to entrants in the above competition who are also under 21 years of age at 1st January in the year of the Competition.
c) The winner will be the Competitor who returns the lowest GROSS SCORE over 36 holes.
d) Ties will be decided in the same manner as the Closed Championship.
